Halloween Friends

This is DV's preschool class (not including Grace). My friends and I do a little preschool 2 times a week. This was our little Halloween party. This is also the best picture I was able to get of GC in her Skunk costume. At our church Halloween party someone called her a cat and she went around saying "kunk, kunk." She wanted to everyone to know she was not a cat!

Happy Halloween

DV was a scarecrow this year for Halloween. He was such a good sport to not complain about all the raffia in his face. Like most kids, DV loves Halloween. It was so fun to make his costume and see his excitement. Holidays take on a new meaning when you have kids. They are exciting again!

Baby #3

Baby #3 is on its way. Well not right at this moment, but January 27th. I'm hoping for 2 weeks early. That would be nice. Maybe I could avoid some stretch marks.

That time of Year:

Since DV had RSV as a baby he has been sickly. It never fails that this time of year brings all kinds of sickness and he gets most of them. Luckily he is getting older and him being sick isn't as stressful for me! Come January I can worry about a new baby getting sick (YIKES). This is a picture of DV and a 3 day long high fever. Poor kid, couldn't even smile for the camera. No one ever told me about the stress of kids getting sick. Dan and I have a list of things we were never told about parenting: sickness, teething and sleeping top that list. To all of you who have kids older than ours, why didn't you tell us!? To all of you who don't have kids please be warned that sickness, teething and sleep patterns will add stress to your life.
Fun With Cousins

Myra and her family were recently here to visit. We had such a fun time. DV and GC love having their cousins here. This was a lucky shot we got of them standing still for a few seconds!

GC is getting SOO big. I just can't believe how fast she has grown up. She is still very charming and by the picture CUTE! Ok so I think my kids are the cutest... who doesn't?

Do I have too? DV has a little book called David Gets in Trouble one of the pages is little David not wanting to eat his dinner. This is what this picture represents. Why do kids only want to eat junk? Anything green is off limits and for some odd reason unknown to me, DV does not like noodles (except macaroni and cheese) or sauce. It's a mystery!

I can see the light

I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel. Every once in a while DV and GC play together and actually get along. Oh how I cherish those brief moments. I'm starting to understand how my mom must have felt as my siblings and I fought ALL the time. It is encouraging to see the "getting along" potential.

It is funny how you adjust to life. Life gets harder (i.e. your kids misbehave more often) and eventually you adjust and it doesn't seem so bad, and hopefully everyone learns along the way. So my advice to myself is, when life gets hard just hold on and sooner or (and usually) later I will see the light. Will someone remind me I said this when I complain about child rearing!?!

DV gets Creative:

DV is getting to be quite the creative kid. He loves to build houses, restaurants, gas stations, banks, and garages. Well most of the time he wants me to build them. I love to see his imagination at work. The other day he said that he was going to get his "paycheck." I'm not even sure where he learned about paychecks. Yesterday he used GC's shoe as an airplane for two cows. His buckets that are supposed to hold his toys are his boats or trains. Aren't kids great. It doesn't take much to make them happy just love and a box or two.

GC's first ponytail

It didn't last long for she promptly pulled it out, but it sure was cute. Having a girl is so fun because I get to dress her up and fix her hair. GC is getting closer to walking and even knows a few words: daddy, ball, baby (bahbah), uh oh, and what's that (sat).
